Chinese Beijing police arrested a counterfeiting gang born in the 2000s, who used cryptocurrency for their transactions
BlockBeats News, October 28th, according to a report by CCTV News, Beijing police recently discovered a strange transaction during their work. The transaction involved an image of a counterfeit money plate, and the police concluded that the buyer was likely involved in printing counterfeit money. Based on this clue, the police followed the lead, arrested 15 criminal suspects, smashed 8 currency counterfeiting dens, and seized counterfeit money worth more than 2.5 million RMB.
According to the report, all the criminal suspects in this case are post-2000s generation, and there are even minors among them. They first learned counterfeiting techniques through overseas software, then used printers to produce counterfeit money, and finally sold them using cryptocurrency for settlement. The criminal suspects not only produced the counterfeit money themselves but also taught the counterfeiting techniques to others for profit.
